Freetobook pricing vs Tribii

0% commission on direct bookings, always. Booking engine, website, PMS essentials, invoicing and AI. Free for any size: your first 20 rooms are included, then €5 per room.
FtbFreetobookPartly free

£139/yr to take card payments

0% commission on direct bookings; add-ons are paid separately. The booking engine, diary and PMS are free with no annual fee and no commission, but the free engine takes no card payments at all: guests book, then you collect the money yourself. Card payments cost £139/yr (£99 for a single unit), messaging £89/yr and the channel manager £1.50 per booking (minimum £9, maximum £99 a month, plus £49 per channel), so a full setup runs roughly £340 to £1,400 a year. Tribii includes online payments and a website builder free up to 20 rooms.

The real difference

The biggest difference isn't a feature. It's the price.

Freetobook's booking engine is genuinely free, and it takes no commission. It also takes no card payments: by their own description it will not collect money from a booking made on your site, so you chase every guest for payment yourself. Fixing that is the first line below. The rest are things they do not sell at any price.

The total covers only the row Freetobook publishes a price for; the rest they do not sell at any price. £139 is the multi-unit rate, £99 for a single unit. Their channel manager is billed separately per booking, and Tribii's sits on Max rather than the free plan, so neither is counted above. Source: their pricing page (August 2026)

Choose Tribii if…

Freetobook may fit better if…

How we price this: for each company we take the cheapest plan they publish that does what Tribii's Free plan does, a booking engine that can take an online card payment, a website, and reservations, rates and invoicing, for a 20-room property. Where a company publishes no price at all, we say so and the range shown is marked as an estimate: it is ours, not a quote from them. Prices are shown in the currency each company publishes and are never converted. Where you land may differ, so check their pricing page before deciding.

Where Tribii is different

Where Tribii is different from Freetobook

A website, included

Tribii builds your hotel website in the free plan. Freetobook has no website builder, and does not sell one.

Payments without a platform fee

Freetobook charges £139 a year (£99 for a single unit) just to switch on card payments. With Tribii, guests pay you directly through your own Stripe account, at Stripe's rate, with no platform fee on top.

Guests, financials and AI

Invoicing, guest experience upsells and AI onboarding are built in. Freetobook has only basic invoicing, no upsell layer and no AI.

Tribii vs Freetobook, in depth

Two free-first systems

Freetobook and Tribii both start free, which makes the real comparison about what free includes. Freetobook's free core is the booking engine, diary and PMS; the layer around it is priced per add-on.

What's free versus what's an add-on

On Freetobook, card payments, messaging, the channel manager and dynamic pricing are paid add-ons, and there is no website builder to buy. Tribii includes payments through your own Stripe, a website builder, invoicing and AI onboarding in the free plan up to 20 rooms.

Growing beyond a booking engine

Freetobook is a strong, simple booking system, and its per-booking channel manager is fair if you sell little through OTAs. Tribii is built to grow with you, adding a full front desk, housekeeping, self check-in, a two-way channel manager and a restaurant module on higher plans without changing systems.

Moving from Freetobook is free. Tribii's AI onboarding imports your rooms, rates and reservations so you keep your history.

Questions about switching

The core booking engine, diary and PMS are free, with no annual fee and no commission. Taking card payments is £139 a year, messaging £89 a year, and the channel manager £1.50 per booking (minimum £9 and maximum £99 a month, plus £49 per channel to connect), so a full working setup runs roughly £340 to £1,400 a year. On Tribii, taking payment is part of the free plan.
