What a hotel channel manager has to get right
Speed is the whole point
The reason to connect channels at all is that a room sold on one closes on the others before anybody else can book it. A booking on Booking.com closes the room everywhere within seconds, and the reservation lands on your rack with the guest, the dates and the channel already filled in. A booking for several rooms arrives as one reservation per room under a shared reference, so each room is blocked and each folio adds up on its own.
One price, not a second calendar
Most drift between a property and its channels comes from keeping two sets of numbers. Tribii keeps one. The rates grid and the Revenue page write the same figures, your default rate becomes the master plan for each room type, and every other rate is worked out from the discount you already set. To sell a channel higher, set a percentage adjustment on that channel rather than maintaining a parallel price list.
Inventory rules, not manual holds
Rules run at the moment inventory changes rather than on a schedule, which is why the last room stays protected even when two bookings land in the same second. Hold a number of rooms back from channels, cap how many a channel may sell however many are free, or close dates to channels while your own booking page carries on as normal.
It checks itself, a year out
Every day the connection reads prices and availability back from the channels, compares them with your calendar, re-sends anything that could have drifted and confirms no incoming booking was missed. That pass covers the year ahead, which is as far out as the channels sell, so a price you set for next summer is kept in step from the day you set it.
