The free QloApps alternative you do not have to host
QloApps is open source and free to self-host, with unlimited rooms. Tribii is free up to 20 rooms and runs itself, with the channel manager, the guest app and AI that QloApps sells separately or leaves out.
An honest, side by side comparison.

How each company describes its own pricing, in their own words, from their public pricing pages. It is not the cost-to-match figure the comparison uses: that one is in the table below, with its basis. See their live pricing.
Data verified August 2026Free is the licence, not the product.
QloApps really is free to download, and if you are comfortable running a server that is a genuine offer. If you are not, you buy their cloud, and their own pricing FAQ answers the important question plainly: the booking engine is not in the entry plan. The cheapest plan that can actually take a reservation is Scale.
| Capability | QloApps | Tribii |
|---|---|---|
| A plan that can take a booking | $27.50/mo | Included, free |
| Server, updates and backups | Your own bill | Included, free |
| Guest app before, during and after the stay | On application | Included, free |
| AI setup and migration | Not available | Included, free |
| Total to match | $27.50/mo | Free - hosted, booking engine included |
Scale is $27.50 a month billed yearly, $33 billed monthly. The free self-managed edition has no licence fee, but the server is yours to run and their own setup pack is $749.99 once, so we leave hosting unpriced rather than guess. Their mobile apps are sold as a separate service and their channel manager is $30 a month per property; Tribii's channel manager sits on Max, so none of those are counted above. Choose Tribii if…
- You want a free system that runs itself, with no server to install, patch or secure.
- You want the booking engine and website included in the free tier, not on a paid plan.
- You want a guest app and guest experiences built in rather than bought as add-ons.
- You want AI onboarding to import your rooms and rates instead of configuring everything by hand.
QloApps may fit better if…
- You want full source-code access and the freedom to modify the software yourself.
- You run more than 20 rooms and would rather host it than pay per room.
- You have the technical capacity to run, update and back up your own server.
Tribii replaces QloApps with a free booking engine and the free hotel PMS, free for up to 20 rooms with 0% commission on direct bookings.
Tribii vs QloApps, line by line.
How we price this: for each company we take the cheapest plan they publish that does what Tribii's Free plan does, a booking engine that can take an online card payment, a website, and reservations, rates and invoicing, for a 20-room property. Where a company publishes no price at all, we say so and the range shown is marked as an estimate: it is ours, not a quote from them. Prices are shown in the currency each company publishes and are never converted. Where you land may differ, so check their pricing page before deciding.

Where Tribii is different from QloApps
Free without a server
Both cores are free. QloApps is free to self-host, so the cost moves to your server, updates and security patches, or to their cloud from $15.80 a month. Tribii is free up to 20 rooms and hosted, with nothing to install.
Channel manager included, not a subscription
QloApps sells its channel manager separately at $30 a month per property, and the trial excludes price and inventory sync. Tribii includes a two-way channel manager on Max.
Fewer paid add-ons to reach a working setup
Housekeeping, self check-in, revenue management, the POS and the mobile apps are all paid QloApps add-ons. On Tribii they sit on a plan, and invoicing, the guest app and AI onboarding are free.
Tribii vs QloApps, in depth
Two genuinely free cores, free in different ways
QloApps and Tribii are the two systems in this comparison whose core costs nothing, so the question is not price but what free includes. QloApps gives you the source code and unlimited rooms, and asks you to supply the infrastructure. Tribii gives you a hosted system for your first 20 rooms, then €5 per extra room per month, and asks for nothing else.
What self-hosting actually costs
A self-hosted PMS is a server you keep patched, back up and secure, holding guest data under GDPR. That is a fair trade if you have the skills or someone who does. QloApps also sells a $749.99 starter pack for setup, installation and training, which is a reasonable signal of the effort involved.
What sits behind add-ons
QloApps has a broad add-on catalogue, and several things a small hotel treats as basic are in it: housekeeping, online check-in, revenue management, the POS and the mobile apps. The channel manager is its own subscription. On Tribii those are on a plan rather than bought one at a time, and invoicing, the guest app and AI onboarding are in the free tier.
Moving from QloApps is free. Export your rooms, rates and reservations and Tribii's AI onboarding imports them in minutes.
